I’m listing some antique and vintage pieces on my Etsy store today that I wanted to share. The glass items I’m listing have been purchased during my journeys in 2010.
This art glass bottle was sold to me as attributed to Durand Art Glass, an American glass company that started producing in the Arts and Crafts era.
It displays their and Steuben Glass’ technique of using opaque iridescent glass over translucent glass to produce a free-form decoration that mimics a spider’s web.
It has a ground pontil, which is a good sign of top quality glass and also a finely flared lip and graceful onion form.
Although not a large piece, this rare form and beautiful colors and decoration deserve the price I have set.
But as with anything the market will tell me if I’m wrong or right, but judging from these recent auction examples I think I’m on the right track:
Estimated at $1000
Estimated between $1500-2000
